MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – June 16, 2022 – TVU Networks, the market and technology leader in cloud and IP-based live video solutions, announced it is technical partner sponsor and exclusive provider of live streaming services to the CoSIDA22 college sports conference taking place June 26-29 at the Mandalay Bay Resort, Las Vegas. CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) is a 3,100+ member organization comprised of athletic communications, creatives and sports public relations/ information professionals throughout all levels of collegiate athletics in the United States and Canada.
Convention organizers will use TVU Producer, TVU Partyline and a TVU Transceiver to live stream three different events during the convention to its website at CoSIDA.com. The CoSIDA live streaming events are: An All-Star Night of Honors presented by ESPN (June 27); the Academic All-America® Hall of Fame & Dick Enberg Award luncheon (June 28); and the CoSIDA Special Awards Luncheon (June 29).
CoSIDA will use the TVU Producer live production platform to assist in producing all three of the streaming shows, including lower third graphics. TVU Producer will enable CoSIDA to move multi-camera, remote production to the cloud for a more agile workflow, as well as a reliable live streaming distribution to any platform.
Former Dartmouth College basketball star and now President and CEO of Fortune 20 health company Anthem, Gail (Koziara) Boudreaux, will attend the 2022 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Hall of Fame Induction remotely from New York. She will use her laptop to join the event via TVU Partyline. Using TVU Partyline, a real-time, ultra-low latency, cloud-based collaboration platform, live production teams and guests can work together as though they’re in the same studio.
CoSIDA Convention live streams will be delivered in broadcast-quality HD up to 1080p60. The TVU Transceiver is built for low latency, high speed, efficiency and adaptability while routing and distributing IP content throughout multiple networks. Smart VBR (Variable Bit Rate) enables TVU Servers to adapt quickly and efficiently to extreme fluctuations in bandwidth during live transmissions.
“We wanted to make several of our premier 2022 Convention events more accessible to participants and viewers who cannot attend in person,” said CoSIDA Executive Director Doug Vance. “With this approach, more colleagues can join in and celebrate with award recipients no matter their location. TVU Networks’ production and streaming platform, with its nominal, cloud-based footprint, enables laptop-based access for the convention production team and our remote participants.”
“TVU Networks is very pleased to be a long-time partner of organizations like CoSIDA that support intercollegiate athletics,” said Ken Valdiserri, VP Sports & Entertainment for TVU Networks. “We’re honored to bring these three prestigious events to online viewers everywhere, reliably and in broadcast quality HD. We appreciate the faith CoSIDA has placed in us to take its live convention production to the next level – using our cloud collaboration tools to bring everyone together.”
The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), now in its 65th year as an organization, was founded in 1957-making it the second oldest management association in intercollegiate athletics.
Today, it is a vibrant 3,100-plus member national association, comprised of the athletic communications, media relations and sports information professionals throughout all levels of collegiate athletics in the United States and Canada. CoSIDA has two primary missions as it seeks to have its profession, organization and membership take its rightful leadership role within the decision-making levels of the intercollegiate athletics community: 1) Help the communications professionals at all collegiate levels with professional development and continuing education as it relates to strategically dealing in an effective manner with the various issues, challenges and opportunities that now exist within the fast-paced and ever-changing communications environment. 2) Play a significant leadership and resource role (i.e. “Strategic Communicators for College Athletics”) within the overall enterprise of collegiate athletics thus helping the other management groups and their respective memberships deal with a set of communications-based issues that is the most complex and challenging in history.
